Crow Sculpture

November 10th, 2009 by admin

crow-sculpture.jpg

I made this sculpture, like the falcon one, so that it would sit on a wall.  I meant them originally to both be crows, but one started looking like a falcon so I went with it.  I don’t like how chubby this looks.  Crows do not perch on their bellies like this, I’m pretty sure, but making thin legs out of ceramic and expecting them to not break off was out of the question.

I used silicone to glue this to the top of the cinder block wall seperating our yard from the alley. I’ve had problems in the past with people stealing things that were placed along the back wall, but I’m hoping that since it’s glued down, it will be okay.

It looks satisfactorily well-fed… and I like the look in its eye.

Oh, and I like the perch, too.
