Black and Turquoise beads

black and turquoise beadsI took a beadmaking class in December, and got my beads back recently.  We were working on stringer techniques, so I tried to use the same simple techniques with the same colors figuring that it was A. good practice and B. might make enough beads for a piece of jewelry. I rarely string my beads, as I don’t care for that sort of jewelry.

They’re great beads. What do you do with them, if you don’t wear them? I’ve strung some beads I acquired but wouldn’t wear around lamp-bases for a colorful rustic look. (My beads are crude molded glass.)

So far I don’t do anything with them except put them in a drawer. I have used some of my hand-made beads as bookmark-weights on my books, and others I’ve strung to hang in a window (like the one I gave you with the fish at the end.) Maybe I’ll use them someday.
