Smiley Ball Summer 2013 – C

When the cups I was making as gifts didn’t turn out, I was glad that I had so many smiley balls. Everyone seems to like them. I like that they’re high fired, so if you don’t have room for tschotschkes in your house, you can put them in the garden in a pile of river rocks, or next to some plants. I have some in my garden that I hoped would grow moss. It seems like they’re perfect, since they’re rough and absorbant, but it just doesn’t get (or stay) wet enough here.

You could try pouring yoghurt-water over them. But you’d still have to keep them damp enough for the moss to remain alive. Maybe place them in the shade of a plant you water often?
