Swirled Blue Glass Cup

swirled turquoise and cobalt tumbler

With this cup, I was trying to reproduce one of the glass cups I gave away last year, only I couldn’t remember what it looked like or how I did it, except that it was blue. This looks nothing like what I remember. I think the other cups I liked were clear blue and adventurine blue, and this is light cobalt and opaque turquoise. Many of the other students in the class buy and bring their own color chunks, either in powder, frit, or solid blocks of color. There are things you can do with solid blocks of oclor that you can’t do with simple frit, but I haven’t bought any. I only have enough time and money to take this class once a year. Maybe next year.
